Hexoris was founded by chemical engineering students who have spent years in real industrial and research environments. We are operators first — we build things and test them.
Hexoris is backed by a group of experienced entrepreneurs and commercialization specialists bringing decades of combined experience in deep technology, IP, and market development.
Serial deep-tech founder and recognized industry leader. Co-founded Meta Materials (NASDAQ: MMAT) and Metamaterial Technologies Inc. Named EY Canada "Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year."
Over 20 years of experience in IP strategy, contracts, and technology transfer. Former Director of IP at a major Canadian university. Co-founded Springboard Atlantic. Certified Licensing Professional.
CTO at The Black Arcs, leading product development and long-term technology strategy. Deep expertise in big-data systems and applied AI for complex industrial applications.
We hold ourselves to a standard that most early-stage companies avoid: demonstrate it first, then talk about it. Every claim we make has been earned through physical experimentation — prototypes built, materials produced, results sent to independent laboratories. We do not pitch projections as facts or treat a simulation as evidence. The culture of Hexoris is one where the experiment has the final word, and where that answer is welcomed regardless of whether it is convenient. If the data says we are wrong, we want to know. That discipline is what separates serious science from storytelling, and it is the only foundation we are willing to build on.
Advanced materials — synthetic graphite, silicon carbide, boron carbide — are not a supply chain consideration. They are a national security matter. The countries and alliances that control production of these inputs control the weapons, the power systems, and the industrial capacity of the next generation. Canada and its allies currently depend on foreign suppliers for materials that underpin their own defence and energy infrastructure. We take that seriously. Hexoris is not a political company, but we are a company that understands context. The technology we are building has direct relevance to domestic material sovereignty, and we intend to be a meaningful part of the answer to that challenge.
We are a company rooted in Atlantic Canada, and we are proud of that. The talent, the institutions, and the culture that shaped this team came from here. But we are not building for a regional market, and we are not satisfied with a regional ambition. The technology we are developing is designed to be licensed and deployed internationally — competing in global advanced materials markets on the strength of its merit. We believe that world-class deep technology can originate anywhere, and that the obligation of a company like ours is to build something significant enough to prove it. Hexoris starts here. It does not end here.
We're always interested in meeting talented operators and collaborators who want to help build what comes next.
